STEP 01 OF 05
P&ID
Instrument tags are born on P&IDs. The tracker treats the P&ID as the primary driver, so every tag can be traced back to the drawing, and the drawing revision, that created it.
What happens
- Engineers mark each instrument on a P&ID revision.
- The tag is added to the instrument index together with the P&ID number it appears on.
- If the drawing changes later, the tag still remembers the revision it was created on.
- To load the tags of a drawing, follow Adding a P&ID.
What the system keeps
- The P&ID number for every tag.
- The P&ID revision used to create the tag.
- Revision history from the first import, with earlier drawing revisions added later where they are known.
Try it in the demo
- Tags tab: Look at the P&ID column to see which drawing each tag sits on. The demo project has 6 P&IDs.
- P&ID import tab: Download the template, add a few fictional tags, upload it and review the result. How it works.
- Change log tab: See every edit with the date, the person and the reason given.
To try this in the tracker, request access at tracker@inc.10mb.com. The project is a fictional gas plant, so edit freely.
You can: browse every tab, edit tags and datasheets, download and upload Excel files, run sign-off, freeze revisions and run the validation checks.
You cannot: reset the demo data, change the status date or the sign-off setup (administrators only), or open the WordPress admin area.
Reset: the demo reloads every night at 3:00 am Pacific, so nothing you save is kept. Please do not enter real or confidential information.
